Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how IFAL store, use and share personal information. This Policy applies to visitors, subscribers and members.
Personal Information We Store
This varies per individual but can include any of the following:
Name, title, email address, postal address, telephone numbers, company details, membership number, photo (if provided for your profile), communications you send us and any other information you provide about yourself.
You may choose not to provide some of the personal information described above. Please note however, that some of our features/services require some personal information and so if you chose not to provide it you may not be able to use that service/feature.
You are entitled to access the personal information that we hold. Please email your request to admin@ifal.org.uk and we will endeavour to get the information to you within a month.
Why Do We Store This Information?
We use your personal information in order to provide the services you have requested, identify you and ensure the security of your online membership account, communicate with you as consented, comply with our legal obligations and to provide a customer service.
Who Has Access to This Information?
The IFAL Exec and administration team have access to your personal information. Information is disclosed to these individuals purely based on need to know to provide the relevant service. Therefore, not all information is disclosed to all.
In addition, we may have to allow specialist third parties access to our systems where your data is held for technical support. We may also have to share data to comply with legal obligations. These external agencies also have Privacy policies in place.
We treat the information you provide to us as confidential information; it is, accordingly, subject to our security procedures and the policies in place for charities regarding protection and use of confidential information. Because laws applicable to personal information vary from country to country, IFAL may put in place additional measures that vary depending on the applicable legal requirements.
How Long Do We Retain This Information For?
We will retain your personal information for as long as your membership is active and/or you wish to remain subscribed.
We will also retain it to comply with legal requirements and for accounting purposes.
How Do We Store Your Information?
We store your data within cloud systems and on computers in the UK, Europe and Canada.
We use a third-party provider, Mailchimp, to deliver our newsletter. Their Privacy Policy can be found here.

How Do We Protect Your Information?
We maintain technical, administrative, and physical security measures designed to protect your information. All individuals with access to your information have been trained in data protection.

Newsletter and Subscriber Opt-In
If you subscribe, we will occasionally contact you via direct email or Mailchimp about information that may be of interest to you.
You can unsubscribe to our newsletter or general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the mailer. Alternatively, you can email us at admin@ifal.org.uk.
