Action Reflection Learning: Past, Present & Future – A Scandinavian Perspective

presented by Lennart Rohlin & Jonas Janebrant

Lennart Rohlin

The founder of MiL Institute and the owner and CEO of MiLgardarna.

Jonas Janebrant.

CEO of MiL Institute.

For over 45 years, Action Learning – and its Swedish evolution, Action Reflection Learning – has shaped how organizations approach learning and leadership development. Today, it remains the foundation for how most Scandinavian companies design and drive Learning & Development.

MiL Institute has been at the forefront of this journey from the very beginning. In the early days, the focus was on real-world challenges through "constructed actions" such as projects, exercises, and simulations. Over the past 10–15 years, the emphasis shifted toward tackling “individual” real-world challenges. Today and tomorrow, the focus moves even closer to the heart of organizations – facilitating change and development as it happens. Securing learning and development as a consequence of organizational development.

Join us for a 90-minute session where we explore the roots, the transformation, and the future directions of Action Reflection Learning. Together, we’ll uncover the similarities and differences between traditional approaches and the evolving landscape – and what it means for leadership and learning in today's fast-changing world.

The event will be recorded and made available to IFAL members in the Members Area of the IFAL website.

Join us online in Zoom for an interactive 90 minute experience, facilitated by the IFAL team.
