INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR ACTION LEARNING is proud to present the sixth event in our series 'International Varieties of Action Learning: Origins and Practices'
The rise and growth of Revans' model and the future of 'classic' action learning
with Mike Pedler and John Edmonstone
Mike Pedler lives at Hathersage in the Peak District National Park and is a member of Hope Valley Climate Action. He was born in Sheffield and has been lucky enough to live for much of his life within 3 miles of Stanage Edge.
Mike has been a manager, an adult educator, a teacher in Higher Education and a consultant on managerial and organisational learning. Since meeting Reg Revans in 1976, who announced to a group of management teachers that they were "doing it all wrong", he works with the action leaning idea and has published a number of books and papers.
He is Emeritus Professor at Henley Business School, University of Reading, Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Management Learning and Leadership at Lancaster University and a Visiting Research Fellow at Liverpool Business School. He is founding editor of the Journal, Action Learning: Research and Practice
John Edmonstone is a leadership, management and organisation development consultant working mostly in the public sector in the UK and internationally and holds an honorary appointment at a UK university.
John has worked with action learning from the late 1970s, largely in healthcare leadership development programmes, and has worked using action learning in Indonesia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
He is the author of three books on action learning and is on the Editorial Board of the Journal, Action Learning: Research & Practice.
